Monitoring of Buildings - and measurement in the construction industry
For years the college of Civil Engineering at Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar has successfully used to monitor changes in building constructions. As an example, during the reconstruction of the medival Runneburg in Thuringia some ground walling had to be renewed. While the tower was lifted had been utilized to monitor the structural stress on the construction. Thus it was possible to record every detail of change in the structural stability to accomplish a successful reconstruction.
